I grew up in Denver, Colorado, skiing and going to football games. During my time in New York during college I became observant and decided to move to Israel, fulfilling the two thousand year hope of the Jewish people to return home. My bachelor's degree was in philosophy from Sarah Lawrence college and I followed that up in Israel spending a few years learning Torah in a yeshivah (Jewish rabbinic seminary), eventually earning ordination as an Orthodox rabbi, getting married, having a few kids, and becoming a tour guide. I live in the small town of Tekoa, home of the biblical prophet Amos thousands of years ago, with my wife and three little boys. My background, with feet in a few different worlds, gives me an ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds and communicate ideas across cultural and religious divides. My passion is to share my love of Israel and of Judaism with you. Below are a few ways that I do that.
These 20-30 minute, weekly episodes address issues about Judaism or the Jewish world that many won't dare touch with a ten foot stick. Everything is discussed in depth, from the heart, with sensitivity and no holds barred from wrestling the truth as I see it to the ground and making it cry uncle.

I recently took my two oldest sons, ages 10 and 8, on a trip to Israel and hired Rabbi Eitan Levy as our tour guide. We had a really enjoyable time. Rabbi Eitan prepared the itinerary and took care of arranging tours beforehand when necessary. He provided us transportation in his new clean car. Rabbi Eitan was very knowledgable about all the places he brought us to, providing an historic overview complete with sources from the Bible as well current scholarly works- he really made the past to come life! One of the best qualifications of Rabbi Eitan is his ability to prepare an itinerary that keeps kids engaged as well as explaining the history at their level; this made the experience very meaningful for my two oldest sons. At the same time, I enjoyed conversing with and learning from Rabbi Eitan, as well. In addition, his flexibility and willingness to accomodate our needs regarding schedule changes was very admirable, and he was very helpful in making sure that my older son’s food allergies were accomodated when we ate out. Thank you Rabbi Eitan, for providing us with memories that we will not forget; my sons and I continue to talk and reminisce about our trip almost a year later.
In a single day, our large family experienced three aspects of Israel’s complex heritage: The desert site when Jeremiah pronounced his prophecies, the excavated settlement and the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered, and the Dead Sea. Eitan was a fabulous leader and guide, dramatically proclaiming the words of Jeremiah, pondering the extremes of the Essene sect, and finding a great place for us, our kids and our grandkids to experience the astonishing buoyancy of the water and the equally astonishing enthusiasm of the other visitors for the salt-infused mud of the seabed. Our group ranged from 2 years to 72 years old, and we all left delighted with Eitan’s planning, knowledge and patience.
Rabbi Eitan took our family on a fabulous day trip through the Gush Etzion area. He tailored the trip perfectly to our requests for adventure, active hiking, a good place for lunch, a little shopping, a visit to the yeshiva for our son, and a final adventure at the Zip LIne! We had a truly full day! All our kids (ages 10-17) came home happy and tired. We would highly recommend Rabbi Eitan and would happily tour with him again!
Rabbi Eitan Day Tours took the time in advance of our meeting to learn more about our areas of interest, preferred pace, and background knowledge. Our guide met us prepared with scriptural passages providing biblical and/or historical context that enhanced our walk-throughs, helping them come to life. Clearly well-educated, he managed to present a non-partisan survey of the modern political climate that sits at the top layer of thousands of years of history, and this help draw the whole day together very nicely. Highly recommended.
Rabbi Eitan took my nine year old son and I on a wonderful walking tour of Jewish Quarter of Jerusalem, and we both had a great time. He had a unique challenge of presenting information to me, who had been on many tours of the Old city throughout my life, and to my son who was being exposed to a tour of the old city for the first time in his life. Neither of us were bored at all, as he presented the tour in a way that was very engaging, informative, and fun for both of us. I would definitely recommend him for groups of all different backgrounds and ages.
It was a life changing and life enhancing experience.
